IRINA SHAMAEVA // BRAINGRAIN

There is never one best Boolean String or one best site to source. We get the best results if we ‘combine’ tools and sites. Join us for a workshop where we’ll be practicing elements of navigating searches using the best sourcing sites and tools in combination.

The fun, fast-paced presentation will start with a brief intro on common-sense ways to select sites and choose and combine relevant tools, depending on target industries and locations. In particular, we’ll learn ways to identify if an association or conference site has posted lists with the right audience, and how to get hold of the lists. We’ll go over a few sourcing tips – such as uncovering hidden names on LinkedIn and verifying email guesses using Facebook. We’ll then proceed to hands-on brainstorming on how to best search for the targets that the audience (You!) will submit.

BUILDING CUSTOM SEARCH ENGINES FOR ADVANCED SOURCING

IRINA SHAMAEVA // BRAINGRAIN

Google’s Custom Search Engines (CSEs) have long been a favorite tool for experts searching the Internet. CSEs benefit researchers in many ways: lessening the need for advanced Boolean operators; expanding the limits of Google’s search capabilities; eliminating annoying “Captcha”s triggered by complex searches; and providing a simple way for advanced users to share their most useful searches with less experienced team members.

Some of the advanced features of CSEs require a more technical background to take full advantage of, but anyone can learn to create simple CSEs that will make life easier for them, and their team. In fact, some highly useful, specialized CSEs can be built from scratch in a matter of minutes!

GETTING REAL ROI FROM SOURCING INVESTMENTS

SHALLY STECKERL // SOURCING INSTITUTE

How to have Sourcing and Recruitment work Well Together. With today’s turbulent talent marketplace constraints, effectiveness only delivers average results. The extreme optimisation of existing recruitment teams is required in order to establish talent identification practices that yield a virtuous cycle of sustainable competitive advantages.

This advanced session will show leaders how to conduct an ingenious and innovative diagnostic to identify their team’s development path, and ways for them to improve how they work together. You will learn how to easily compare the productivity and efficacy of sourcers to that of recruiters, and be able to compare performance between them regardless of their diverse roles, experience level, and industry specialities. You will be prepared to accurately identify bottlenecks, opportunities for gaining efficiency or reducing waste, and strategic advantages your team can gain immediately.

A not-so-much-talked-about consequence of social media today is that companies are taking a shrewd, hard look at what they can do to keep their employees out of the hands of prying sourcers and recruiters. Some retention studies say it costs $20,000 to $30,000 in recruiting and training expenses to replace a manager making $40,000 and as much as $213,000 to replace a $100k CEO!

NO WONDER companies are blocking egress, ingress and all the exits, windows, doors and ports of call.

Today companies are cocooning (secreting/hiding/burying) their employees PURPOSELY as part of their retention efforts. Gatekeepers are being trained with new security measures and employees are mostly unaware of what’s happening at the reception desks of the companies they’re working for.

It’s easy to click “next” or “delete” on your computer to an email, isn’t it? It’s not so easy to say “no” on the telephone. The telephone is the most effective and persuasive tool for reaching and influencing today’s potential candidates hard at work inside the companies you’d like to hire from. Getting to them has never been harder with some companies today beginning to enact “no transfer” policies within their premises.
